Senior Manager/Supervisor
The Human Resources Director originates and leads Human Resources practices and objectives that will provide an employee-oriented, high-performance culture that emphasizes teamwork, quality, productivity and standards, goal attainment, and the recruitment and ongoing development of a superior workforce. A hands-on leader, the person in this position coordinates implementation of services, policies, and programs and advises company managers about Human Resources issues.
Job Responsibilities:
- Enhance the company culture through communication, training and feedback to managers and team members.
- Enhance the employee brand by upgrading new hires, enhancing training and development and continuing to improve employee satisfaction and rewards.
- Identify training needs and coordinate training.
- Ensure legal compliance by monitoring and implementing applicable human resources federal and state requirements. Maintain Employee Handbook.
- Lead the HR Generalist in all functions including recruiting, interviewing and on boarding process for all new hires.
- Ensure I-9s and personnel files are complete and in compliance.
- Maintain job descriptions.
- Serve as Benefits Administrator for the company. Manage relationships with benefits brokers and perform competitive shops annually. Plan and execute annual open enrollments.
- Lead the HR Generalist in the payroll process. Ensure timeliness and accuracy of payroll taxes, HSA and 401(k) contributions.
- Manage the relationship with the payroll provider.
- Lead the Safety Program for the company. Execute monthly safety training and follow up.
- Electronically file and maintain OSHA 300, 300A and 301 Logs.
- Manage workers’ compensation claims. Follow up with medical providers to ensure that employees are receiving top notch care and can return to work as soon as possible.
- Manage the year end evaluation process, provide training when necessary.
- Assist supervisors and managers with the coaching and corrective action process. Ensure documentation is complete.
- Assist managers with employee terminations.
- Hear and assist in resolving employee grievances.
- Manage unemployment claims.
- Other duties and projects as assigned by CEO.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience, HR certification a plus.
- 10 years of Human Resources Management experience, preferably in a manufacturing or similar environment.
- Ability to meet critical deadlines, prioritize and complete work assignments within agreed time-frames.
- Must possess excellent analytical and communication skills.
- Knowledgeable in multi-state employment laws.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office products.
- Experience with private equity a plus.
